Pirates of the Caribbean Part III

The boiling lake. :) (unbelievable)

Smelling pretty strong right about now . . . eggs . . . yuck!

This was one area we had to climb to make it to the boiling lake . . . fun . . . :(

We fell in love with the Flamboyant tree in St. Kitts, so much so, we planted this bad boy in our backyard, but ours has yet to flower like the one above. :( Glad to say it did survive our colder than normal winter this year. :)

our hotel :)

We watched a cricket match. :) (We tried and tried to figure out the rules with no luck.) :( Anyone know how to play this?!

We had the opportunity to visit the last group of Carib Indians in existence. This is who Columbus met when he arrived on the Caribbean Islands. The Carib are thought to have traveled across the Bering Strait through North/South America and then on to the islands of the Caribbean.

This was our guide. If she marries out of the tribe, she can no longer live on the reservation. :(

Some Carib children with their Dad play in the base of the waterfall---besides the clothes, goggles, and bucket, I'm sure this scene would have been played out over 500 years ago in the exact same location. :)

zoom in on the above picture and see if you can find the parrot :)

The Atlantic Ocean--you can definitely see why Columbus circled around Dominica finding a place to land. :)

(above) one last hike to find some parrots . . .

I met some kids while swimming at the beach. There names were shark girl, lava boy, Troy, Sharpay, and Gabrielle. :)

We did have reminders of our home--this German Shepherd lived at a resort near Portsmouth. Josh & I missed our Emma back home . . . well, that was until we heard all the things Emma had been up to at our house in Corpus . . . anyone want a dog?!?!! Thank you Jason for watching all our animals this past week----especially carrying numerous rugs outside due to fish tanks overflowing, animals paying us back for leaving them, and the german shepherd who can break metal weldings . . . ugghhhhhhh.

(below) Tito Gorge---where our video camera met its death via the hard waterfall and my crazy husband :) and yes, our guide was a bit crazy himself :)

(above) We met a guy near Scott's Head who showed us how easy it was to climb a coconut tree . . . maybe for him!! :)
