Our Dad is a triathlete!

This weekend had us bicycling on a high wire above the Guadalupe River!!! We LOVE the Wittie Museum in San Antonio, and try to take the kids when we have an opportunity to do so. This weekend was one of those instances. We traveled to San Marcos, Texas for Josh to compete in his first 'sprint' triathlon. Before and after his race we took advantage of the outlet malls in San Marcos and the museum and the yummy restaurants. :)
We especially loved the museum because they were having a special exhibit called 'Dinosaurs Unearthed.' The exhibit consisted of big, moving, sound-making dinosaurs. :) Kayden didn't quite feel so safe around this huge T-Rex.

(above) You would look like that too, if you saw and heard what is in the picture below. :) & :(
(below) Josh's friend, Kris, came to San Marcos to swim, bike, & run in the race as well. This picture is at the finish line.
The first part of the triathlon was a 300 meter swim in a lake. Then they jumped out to get on their bicycles quickly for a 12-mile ride, then on to the 2 1/2 mile run. :)Karston & Camee ran the last few steps with their Dad. :) We are very proud of our Dad!!! Good job Josh!!! & all of this in a little over an hour! Way to go!

All of that in this heat?!? Way to go Josh! I can barley drag myself outdoors to water my plants in these temps!
What a fun little getaway - I always loved the shopping in San Marcos. Below looks like a very fun and beautiful BIG getaway. Good for you two!
