Space art, dancing and KTVA
Friday was almost your normal day at school, except for some art, dancing, and being on TV. It was a busy day, but a very fun day.
My enrichment class continues to get more and more involved in their LOVE of space (well, kind of, but I'll take it). Today, we worked on space art, and worked on painting our spacecraft that will explore the solar system and beyond.

This is usually done with spray paint, but my trust level is not very high with this group, and the cold and snowy temperatures didn't make going outside seem like a good idea, so we just used acrylic paint. I still think it turned out great though.
We have been planning our flash mob for over 2 weeks now. Sometimes one person would show up to practice, and I had a lot of students try to get out of the fun, but somehow, with the help of some brave friends, we pulled off the first and best (so far) flash mob at Colony Middle School. Thank you to the young man who had the moves down perfect, and made us all look better because of it. :)
Because National Junior Honor Society had been advertising Rock the Resilience, a community event aimed at making teens aware of domestic violence and sexual assault problems, we were interviewed by KTVA. The students did an awesome job sharing why they think it is important to be aware of these issues, and how by being aware, they can help prevent abuse. I could not be prouder of my awesome students.
