Baseball and Boy Scouts

Karston has been busy these last few months becoming a boy scout . . . instead of a cub scout, and playing Spring baseball.  His last regular season game got rained out on Friday, and with just the tournament remaining, his days as a Ranger are quickly coming to a close . . . .

  

This past week my Mom and Dad were able to come and watch Karston play ball.  When I was a kid, my Dad was a great softball player.  We attended many of his games and cheered my Dad on—getting Root Beer floats when he made a homerun (which he did quite a lot).  :)  I’m glad Karston and his Papa share of love of the game.  Thank you Papa for coming all this way to see my boy.

So, yes, Karston has been known for getting hit by the baseball quite often . . . but not quite having the bruises and black eye to show for his pain . . . until now.  OUCH!  :( 

 

Karston turned eleven years old in Feb., so at the Blue and Gold Banquet, Karston finally got to ‘walk over the bridge’ into Boy Scouts!!  :)  He was so excited to get all of his brown boy scout gear—he said every time he looks at his new boy scout shirt, he thinks about summer camp in North Carolina!!!  He is so excited to go with his Papa, Dad, and cousins to camp for a whole week in the smoky mountains. 

 

One day Karston will write beside his name the date he gets his Eagle.  :)  We love our buddy—and very proud of the young man he is becoming.

 

Well . . .

let’s just say Karston has always had a love with things that are military . . . and he has upgraded his Nerf guns  to airsoft guns.  He saved up his own money (by mowing the neighbor’s yard) to purchase his cool gloves and face mask.  We love you buddy!!
