Spring Break, Birthdays, Cheerleading Try-Outs, and a Missionary comes home!

We have been enjoying our Spring Break!!  I can’t believe the week is almost over.  We have certainly found things to do, like celebrating Kayden and Josh’s birthdays, tiling a kitchen table (post coming on that one), watching our dad windsurf, playing baseball, . . . and . . . . Is it too early to say, we can’t wait until summer break?!?!!

We were very proud of Cameron, the two weeks prior to Spring Break-she was busy trying out for cheerleading.  She had to memorize two cheers, a dance, make two posters, come up with five different pep rally ideas, and get two teacher recommendations.  She worked and worked on her toe touches (seeking advice from Kelsey & Uncle Josh), and spent time at a cheer clinic until nine at night.  Yikes!  It was a lot of hard work.  There were about 50 girls trying out, and only 12 made it. Cameron wasn’t one of the twelve, but we could not be prouder of her hard work and effort to accomplish one of her goals.  Maybe next year?!!

Kayden and Daddy not only share similar facial features—they also share their birthday months.  Kayden’s birthday is March 8th, and Josh’s the 9th.  We had fun celebrating their birthdays with red velvet chocolate cake, manicures, sleep overs, new sunglasses (Josh’s present), many Lolaloopsy dolls & clocks & toys (Kayden), and lots of fun!

We were also very excited to see Elder Osborne return home on Friday evening.  Kayden and Hailey Osborne are best friends, so watching her older brother get back from Thailand was a very neat experience.  And then, of course, we reminisced about Elder Ault getting back from New Jersey, and heard missionary stories from our own in-house missionary, Elder Bright.  We got excited about where our Karston might go on his mission, and Cameron reassured him that she would fly home for the weekend from BYU to see him fly-in.

And, no, David did not see a white elephant in Thailand  . . . .
