"just look around" -Cami

We just got back from our trip to the island nation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Josh and I went last year, so we had to bring our best friends with us this time around. Cami & Karston had a blast (to say the least). We thoroughly wore them out each day, and they can probably sleep for the next week straight. It is hard to pick what pictures to include on the blog when you have about 600 pictures to choose from and not to mention the many video clips, so this might not be the only installment of St. Kitts pictures!! :) And, if you just can't get enough, you are more than welcome to come to our home & check out all the video--we would be very happy to reminisce our experiences with you (just ask our neighbors the Suttons). he-he Sorry these pictures are in no random order--(above) Cami shows off her new hair style, (below) Karston enjoys snorkeling . . . and snorkeling . . . and snorkeling. :) This is the beach right outside our hotel, but we made it a point to try out as many beaches as we could--we snorkeled in the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Karston LOVED to be Josh's tag along. Karston would just perch himself on his Daddy's shoulders and ride around snorkeling with his Dad. On the last day, Karston and Josh saw a sting ray!! Cami also enjoyed snorkeling with her Dad too.

(above) Cami, Karston & I right outside our hotel room with a beautiful Flamboyant Tree behind us. We saw this tree last year--it is really beautiful when it blooms--so of course we have one of these trees in our backyard now. :) We were hoping it would be blooming when we got home, but our tree hasn't bloomed yet . . . maybe next year.
(below) We also had a lot of fun in the swimming pools with the kids. Karston does a belly flop. :)
(below) Karston and Cami sit on the front of the catamaran. We rode a catamaran between the two islands of St. Kitts and Nevis. The water, the view, everything was breathtaking. And, I wasn't as sick as last time--a good thing. :)

(above) Josh and I on the beach in Nevis. We found a lot of sea shells--and lots of sand dollars. They reside in our aquarium at home now. :)

(above and below) Cami goes crazy at Turtle Beach--Nevis in the background. :)

(above) We rented a car to do our own exploring. Since St. Kitts used to be a British territory, they still drive on the left hand side of the rode, and the steering wheel is also on the wrong side. Luckily, Josh was able to handle the changes and we didn't get in any accidents!! he-he

Brimstone Hill

My favorite place--Romney Manor. They make Batik fabric here--really bright and Caribbean looking. :) The grounds of the manor are gorgeous.

(below) Nothing like a fresh coconut after a long hike in the rainforest. This is our guide Mr. Rodgers. He took us on the same hike last year. :)

(below) Karston takes a chilly dip in a waterfall deep in the rainforest.

(above) Karston and Cami in the lobby of our resort. During our stay, the Marriott hosted the Petro Carribe Summit. So, our hotel was on high security alert. Some of the guest at the summit included the President of Nicaragua, Vice-President of Cuba, and drum-roll . . . Hugo Chavez. So, we definitely tried to stay as far away from the resort as possible during the one day summit, but I was willing to hand over my book, The 5000 Year Leap to Chavez if I saw him. :(

(above) This was our ride to the foothills of the rain forest.

(above) I took a picture of this tree last year too. :)

(above) Karston thinking he was pretty cool riding in the back of a truck.

(above) Karston learned he LOVED Johnny Cakes--yum!

OK--the end of pictures for now . . . I'll try to add more later! :) We LOVE St. Kitts and Nevis!!
