part one
If you look closely to the above picture, sitting beside Josh is Boots, the monkey. Boots was brought to Kayden by Josh & I on our first trip to St. Kitts about five years ago. Kayden was so excited to take Boots back to his home, to say hi to all of his monkey friends . . . unfortunately though, Boots was left sitting on the above airport tram. When Kayden realized that Boots was missing, she was so truly scared for her monkey friend, and so, so disappointed he wouldn't be with her anymore. It was not the best way to start our vacation. :( When we arrived in St. Kitts though, Boots made it all better. He had called the Marriott and told them his friend, Kayden, would be arriving shortly. The staff there had a monkey named Bananas there waiting for her. :)
(above) The kids aboard the airplane. We decided to go the back pack route, with no luggage to check-in. It really helped us speed up a little & we didn't have to pay that luggage fee, and the kids were definitely troupers carrying their heavy loads. (below) Kayden & I wait for our airplane in Miami.
(above) No, this isn't Banana in the banana tree--this is Boots Jr. Kayden came home with quite a few monkey friends--she won the sympathy vote many times. (below) Kayden points to where we are--St. Kitts & Nevis.
Josh & I have been to St. Kitts & Nevis three times, so we feel like we are sharing the same stories, because we do a lot of the same things . . . but we could be there & do the same things a million times, and it wouldn't be any less impressive, fun, and just plain amazing. The views are like none other--really not of this world kind of thing. I love St. Kitts. :) So . . . of course we took our usual catamaran ride to Nevis, snorkeling along the way, and spending the day on the beach in Nevis eating yummy food. And, yes if you remember, I sometimes have issues with being sick on the catamaran, but I took my medicine, and everything was perfect . . . I even sat up on the netting (hadn't done that since I left the netting to spend some time in the restroom on our first catamaran). he-he
Karston though was definitely the star of the show. He loved having the waves crash on his head--he is truly his father's son. He loves the water as much as Josh does, and so enjoys being in it--no matter how it comes! :)
Camee's claim to fame during the beach stay was when Karston 'accidentially' threw a sand dollar her way--hitting her head and causing a little bit of a sore spot.

Did we say how much we swam?! A LOT!! :)

Kayden & Camee both got their hair braided. :) Kayden refuses to take hers out, because Memaw took out Cameron's last time, and always talks about how long it took, so Memaw must do her hair too. :)

Did we mention how many times Josh pushed the kids or tried to push me in the pool?!? Well, we got him back!! :)
We definitely had the best food to eat--usually that consisted of food at our resort, but this was our meal in Nevis---the chicken was delicious---I don't think we ever got used to raisins in our cole slaw, but it was fun trying something new.
So, once again we traveled to the birthplace of Alexander Hamilton (Nevis), and walked the grounds of Samuel Jefferson's home (great-great-great, etc. grandfather of Thomas Jefferson), and um . . . visited the place where Chief Justice John Roberts vacations, and yes Princess Di too . . . and well, where Chavez attends summits (last time we were there). :( Yes, we made it again to what we now feel is our second home--St. Kitts! :) It was awesome being together as a family for 8 days and 7 nights of pure perfection. :)
