ups and downs
Teaching sure does have its ups & downs . . . but I think I'm in a good place now that might just sustain me the rest of the year. :) I had the opportunity to observe other classes in the sixth grade (to see how they run their classroom, etc.), it was really a good opportunity for me to get new ideas, and to see that the students don't save their bad behavior just for me. And I had one of my bosses (the lady over curriculum) come to explain a certain computer system to me, to then just vent to her, and in return she gave me basic information that I had never gotten--eye opening--and it is making my job so much easier. I have kind of been on my own . . . and I learned that I should have been asking a lot more questions, but I just didn't know the answers even existed . . . . Anyway-needless to say, I really LOVE my job. I still can't believe I am a teacher, but more than anything--I LOVE my kids!!! :) Even my most talkative class, individually they are great people, who will do so much in the world. I don't know how I'm going to let them leave in May. :(
Yesterday I had to get a writing sample from one of my students (English isn't his first language, so forgive him for the mistakes). I told him to write about his feelings on math. I was just going to turn in the writing sample to the lady who needed it, but thankfully I took the time to read it . . . this is what he wrote . . .
AHHHHH!!! I cried of course. :)
