the Lunar Eclipse

To say I love Astronomy, at this point, would be an understatement. I have always loved looking at the stars. When I was little, I found out if you wrote NASA, they would send you pictures and information all about space . . . they probably knew me by name, because, needless to say, I wrote a lot. :) I remember witnessing my first lunar eclipse at Papa McKneely's lake house. We had moved back to Lufkin, and we were looking for a home, so we were staying at the lake house until we found one. So, when my astronomy professor said the next lunar eclipse would be Dec. 21st. I wrote it down immediately, and knew I would not be missing it. Josh & I set our alarm for 2 AM, so we would see it, it was easy to get up (because I wasn't sleeping too well, since I had a tummy ache--see previous post). We got a few good pictures from around 2:20 AM. :)

I took the next picture before we went to bed that evening---it is hard to take a picture of the full moon since it is so bright. :)

It was sooooo cool!!! :) It is really a miracle to witness such an event--to think, these three heavenly bodies lined up so perfectly. :)
