I can do hard things.

My kiddoes can do hard things. :) Taryn Christenson talked about this at church one Sunday (I listen sometimes). :) She had a friend who had something similar in her kids' bedroom. I thought it was an awesome idea, so for a while now, they have had little bulletin boards to attach their goals to. BUT now that I have this sister who is creative & has a vinyl letter making machine . . . well . . . they got nice signs now!! (thanks Ginger!!) & they get to learn how to set goals, reach them, and then make new goals---to always be working hard toward something, & also knowing they are capable of accomplishing anything!!

"Man is a goal seeking animal. His life only has meaning if he is reaching out and striving for his goals." Aristotle :)

So do you set deadlines for achieving goals? or are there prizes involved? This is a great idea! Tell me more!!
Kira--they set goals they can accomplish in about a month, like during the summer---Karston's goal was to read a chapter book, and Camee's was to learn a new song on the violin . . . I haven't set up a prize when they accomplish their goals--just lots of high fives & good jobs. I want them to learn to do it, & feel good about themselves without having to get something for doing it.

That is a really cool idea. Kids get really excited when they set goals and achieve them. We always set "Classroom Goals".
