The moon! The moon!

Thanks to our neighbors (the Suttons) we were informed that Friday night the moon was closer to the earth than it has been in over 1000 years, so we took the opportunity to go see it rise over the gulf just a day late. :) We got a little worried when we didn't see the moon rise at 6:52 (the official moon rise time for Corpus last night), but just a little bit later, we saw the moon break through the clouds!! . . . well . . . it was impressive, but it did still look awfully far away!! :)

Josh's Dad & Stepmom were also here to see the moon, & then we took a ride to see the Christmas lights. We saw a few lighted palm trees and an oak tree that looked like the burning bush Moses saw!! :) We had fun visiting with them. And the kids especially enjoyed opening their first Christmas presents!

Friday, I got to go spend a few hours with Karston's kindergarten class. His teacher had to attend a Christmas luncheon. So, of course I had to bring my camera along and take a picture of 18 five-year-olds!!! AGGGHHHH!! (I secretly was loving pretending to be a teacher . . . again.) :)

I think Tommy might've exagerated a little when he said it was the first time in 1000 years ;-) ...but it was spectacular. I'm a little jealous 'cause your moon pictures turned out so much better than mine. But we did have fun trying to get each other's profiles by moonlight!
