A Couple of Birthdays, Baseball Game, and a 5K
The month of March is pretty busy for our family. We kick it off with three very important birthdays—March 8th, Kayden & Harrison’s (my nephew) & March 9th, Josh’s birthday. This year was extra special because Kayden turned 8 and Josh turned 40!! Eight is a special birthday because at our church it is the age they can decide to be baptized. We were very proud of our Kayden and the promises she made to her Father in Heaven. :)
Cami & Madison (Cami’s best friend) being silly at the baptism.
Kayden got to wear the dress I wore at my baptism (and Cameron did too). My Grandmother Ricks made me the dress for my baptism. I got to pick out the pattern, material, and everything—it was a very big deal to an eight year old. :) My Papa Ricks took me to JCPenney in Nacogdoches to pick up beautiful grey shoes to match. Both my girls have worn this very special dress on their special day. The picture below is me on my baptism day. ;)
Josh’s party was not as reverent however . . .
And to catch you up on what has been going on lately, here are a few pictures from the Color Me Rad 5K—Cameron & Karston ran, did a great job, and got really dirty. Also, the BYU baseball team came to play in Corpus Christi this past month—Karston was definitely excited to see his favorite sport played by one of his favorite colleges. (They got beat pretty bad though.) And, Kayden got third place in the science fair, and is now headed to the district’s science fair in April. And, one last picture is of the cake my friend, Kira Morse, got me for being teacher of the year. :) ANNNNNDDDD . . . the Payne family got to spend some time with our family this week. We love the Payne’s and LOVE their new little guy Nathan (but we didn’t get any pictures of the baby). :(
