Exploring the Seward Highway

We decided to take a drive Saturday to Portage Lake/Glacier.  During the winter months, you can walk across the lake to the glacier.  Josh and I did this on my first trip to Alaska in March of 2017.  I've wanted to share the experience with the kiddos ever since, but the lake has a hard time getting frozen....

The Seward Highway is the most beautiful highway in the world.  Here are some pictures from our journey:

The lake did look on the frozen side, but there was no people attempting its crossing, so we chickened out, maybe next month?!

Portage Lake

We got some food, and enjoyed spending some time together.

The inlet wasn't frozen though--you can see it slowly creeping on in the video above.
