marathon . . .
Josh & I headed to San Antonio on Saturday to run in the Rock 'n' Roll Half-Marathon & Marathon. I did the half (13.1 miles), and Josh did the marathon (26.2 miles)! It was in the 80s, so yes, it was hot & hot & more hot, but we made it over the finish line. We take that as a victory. I am soooo proud of Josh, this is his third marathon. I know I will never be able to accomplish even one--training for a marathon requires lots of time and a whole lot of commitment. We are PROUD of you! :)
As for me, my lack of commitment, just for a half . . . is definitely being felt today. :( But, it does renew my efforts for our next attempt in January at the Houston Chevron Half-Marathon & Marathon, and then I think Josh & I will both take a break. :)
The best posters along the way----"Where are ya'll going?" "Run faster I just *#$@!" "Start slow and tapper off!" & "You trained longer than Kim Kardashians wedding!" he-he
I did find a t-shirt that sums up my experiences with running, it said, "I love to run! Except when I'm doing it." he-he
We had a great time in San Antonio. The kids stayed with our friends, the Osbornes, so we knew they were in good hands & having lots of fun.
We stayed in the Menger hotel in downtown San Antonio, yes, the haunted one. :)
And, of course, we crossed over Col. Travis' line in the sand. :)
We had a great weekend, feeling very accomplished, and being able to spend 'quality' time with each other. :)
