2016

Josh & I had a date night, so we thought we would go and see 2016.  It is a documentary about Obama, why he believes what he does, and what in his past has brought him to those opinions.  Much of the movie is in his own words--through his book, Dreams from My Father.  For the most part, the movie didn't have anything that I hadn't already known about our president, what truly scared me about the movie is that most Americans don't know this.  It is truly a scary thing that in about 2 months Americans will vote for a rock star, a look, more than the content of one's character, their experience, or just on a whim that their hope & change is the same as 'that' guys, when in actuality it is very, very different.

And the sad thing is, I have fallen for the trap.  I have been reluctant to speak up because (especially in education), I was looking for a job or wanting to go to NASA, and I feared that I would be labeled by others for not supporting our first black president.  This is not to say I haven't had opinions, or haven't voted, because I have, but I have remained low key in a way.  & well, I just started a new job, finished college, all of which have been time consuming . . . . but no more, I'm back.  :)  This country that I love--I don't want it to be equal in the world, I want us to continue to be the best, the light on the hill, and I know with every factual and emotional bone in my body, it will not be if we continue down the path that Obama has started in his first four years.
