Happy Easter!
My Grandmother Ault always made a big, I mean BIG, deal out of Easter time. She would always show up to our home with tons of Easter eggs not filled with candy, but MONEY!! (no wonder I was still hunting eggs well into high school) :) Another tradition she had was to make confetti eggs. Each egg had a name written on it. If you got your name, you could bonk it on anyone's head, if you got someone else's name, you had to find them---BONK!! We continue Grandma's tradition in our home. Our neighbors, the Suttons, have had to get used to our holiday tradition (whether they like it or not--sorry). :) The kids make sure that we have their name on two confetti eggs as well. Kayden really got the chuckles when she was able to give Mrs. Sutton the BONK!!
And, Karston had a good time with it as well. :)
My Grandmother passed away a few years ago. Of course I really miss her, especially around holidays when she was so much a present in my life. I am so glad I can teach my kids about her, and what an awesome Grandmother she was. Sitting on one of our shelves are two confetti eggs with Camee & Karston's name on them. The last Easter my Grandmother was alive, she made sure to make those eggs for my kids. She was battling leukemia at that time, and didn't have a lot of strength, but she did it for my kids, she wanted them to have a good Easter. Of course when I got the eggs home, I couldn't let the kids break those eggs, so they sit on our shelf as a reminder of how much my Grandmother loved them and me. Another great thing about Easter is knowing that our Savior overcame death. So, I know one day I will get to see my Grandmother again!! And then, maybe, I'll let the kids break those confetti eggs, especially since there is a dollar in each one mixed with the confetti. :)
